Job Description
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop products, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
- Product redesigns to standardise and streamline existing portfolio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise design efficiency and functionality.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Conduct testing and analysis to validate product designs.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures in the design process.
- Work with suppliers to source materials and components as needed.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during product implementation.
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate innovative technologies into designs.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Product Development Engineer should have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modelling and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of hydrualic systems and design principles.
- Experience in the industrial and manufacturing industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on innovation.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- An ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
